Guides in InDesign
(Index)
Guides are vertical and/or horizontal lines that you can snap objects to. Just like other design-time markings, you can show and hide the guides on your page.
If objects are not snapping to your guides, in the menus, choose View -> Snap to Guides.
- To create a single horizontal guide, click and drag from the horizontal page ruler into your page area.
- To create a single vertical guide, click and drag from the vertical page ruler into your page area.
- To create a set of guides that are equally spaced, in the menus, choose Layout -> Create Guides. Specify the number of rows and columns, and click OK.
- Guides can be selected just like normal objects. Once selected, you can copy, paste, duplicate, or delete guides.
