Placing Objects in InDesign

(Index)

The easiest way to get a picture or a bunch of text or a picture onto your page is to place it.

  1. Make sure nothing is Selected.
  2. In the menus, choose File -> Place.
  3. Find your file and click OK.
  4. Your cursor will change to for text or for pictures. This is when you find a location to put it on your document. Just click where you want it. If you click inside another object, then the object you're placing will go inside the frame you clicked on. To undo this and go back to the placing cursor, in the menus, choose Edit -> Undo. To completely cancel everything, click on the arrow tool .
  5. Done!
